About DataSieve 2.0

DataSieve 2.0 (previously TextMine, available at the Mac App Store) is a local-first data extraction tool that turns unstructured text into clean, structured datasets — without sending a single byte to the cloud. Drop in text, a folder of files, or even a ZIP archive, and DataSieve identifies and extracts every email address, phone number, URL, date, financial figure, and more in a single pass. Everything runs natively on your Mac, offline, with no tracking.

How DataSieve Works

DataSieve operates as a Mac application. Paste text directly, drag in files (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, JSON, HTML, EPUB, plain text), or point it at a folder or archive to batch-process multiple documents at once. Select the data types you want to extract — or define a custom extractor using regex — and DataSieve scans everything in parallel. Results come back in seconds, organized by type, ready to export as XLSX, DOCX, or JSON for downstream use.

Key Features

  • 100% offline processing — all extraction runs locally on device, no cloud, no telemetry, no data ever leaves your Mac
  • Wide format support — PDF, Word (.docx), Excel (.xlsx), CSV, JSON, HTML, EPUB, plain text, ZIP archives, and nested folder structures
  • Multi-type extraction in one pass — emails, phone numbers, URLs, dates, financial data, and more simultaneously
  • Custom extractors — define your own regex patterns for proprietary data types (serial numbers, account codes, custom identifiers)
  • Batch processing — scan entire folders or archives in a single operation, no need to open files individually
  • Flexible export — output to JSON, XLSX (Excel), or DOCX for immediate use in spreadsheets, databases, or reports
  • Improved accuracy in v2.0 — better handling of financial data formats and international date/number conventions compared to v1.x

Who Should Use DataSieve?

DataSieve is the right tool for anyone who regularly needs to pull structured data from unstructured documents without setting up a cloud pipeline or writing a script. Researchers extracting contact data from academic papers, compliance teams pulling dates and figures from contracts, operations staff processing archives of customer emails, or developers who need a quick local extraction tool before building automation — DataSieve handles all of these in a native Mac app with no configuration required. Its privacy-first local processing makes it appropriate for handling sensitive documents that cannot be sent to cloud services.
